“Mental Health Is Not a Luxury, It’s a Necessity” Actor Sidharrth Sipani on World Mental Health Day

October 10 marks World Mental Health Day, a day that holds special significance for Actor Sidharrth Sipani. “For me, it’s a gentle reminder to pause and check in with myself,” he shares. “In our busy lives, we often keep pushing forward without truly asking ourselves how we’re feeling. This day reminds me it’s okay to slow down and take care of my emotional well-being, just like my physical health.” Life as an actor, Sidharrth admits, comes with its fair share of unpredictability and stress.
Long shoots, auditions, and constant expectations can weigh heavily. “I’ve learned that I need to protect my peace,” he says. “Spending time with family and friends, keeping a routine, and doing small things that make me happy these are not luxuries, they’re necessities to stay balanced.” He believes conversations around mental health in the entertainment industry are slowly breaking barriers. “For a long time, people felt ashamed to admit they were struggling,” Sidharrth notes. “When actors and public figures talk about it openly, it lets others know they are not alone.
That kind of honesty can be powerful.” Social media, he admits, can be both a boon and a challenge. “It can be overwhelming at times,” he says. “There’s constant comparison and pressure to always look perfect or be ‘relevant.’ I try to use it consciously sharing only when I genuinely feel like it and reminding myself that real life exists beyond the screen.” Maintaining balance is also about daily practices. Sidharrth shares, “Meditation really helps me center myself, and staying active clears my head. Simple things like listening to music, spending time with loved ones, or being in nature make a huge difference.
It’s all about finding what calms you and making it part of your routine.” Finally, Sidharrth emphasizes the importance of openness. “Celebrities often only show the glamorous side of life, but struggles are real,” he says. “If my honesty can make even one person feel understood or encourage them to take care of themselves, it’s worth sharing.
